Vital Vinyl (Volume Two.)

Listening notes

Vital Vinyl (Volume Two.) is a various-artists compilation released by Pickwick Records in 1980, catalogued as HSC 3037. It was issued on cassette and draws together twelve tracks spanning a notably wide range of genres, including classic rock, hard rock, new wave, pop, punk, rock, and soft rock.

The cassette is organised across two sides of six tracks each. Side one opens with "Denis" and continues through "Shadow Play," "Conquistador," "Be Good Yourself," "Valley Of The Dolls," and "Saturday Night Beneath The Plastic Palm Trees." Side two runs from "Ready Steady Go" through "When The Daylight," "I Keep Forgetting," "Ships," "Doctor Doctor," and closes with "Fly Now." No track durations are documented in the available release data.

Pickwick Records was a budget label with a substantial presence in the UK and US markets during this period, and compilations of this kind were a common part of its catalogue. Beyond the label, format, catalog number, year, genre classifications, and tracklist, no additional details regarding the contributing artists, recording origins, or personnel are confirmed in the verified release information for this title.

Researchers and collectors seeking to identify the specific artists behind individual tracks, or to confirm whether this release is connected to a broader Vital Vinyl series, are advised to consult primary sources such as original sleeve documentation or contemporary trade listings, as those details fall outside what the current verified data can support.
