Véhémence
Par Le Sang Versé

Listening notes

Véhémence's *Par Le Sang Versé*, released in 2020 on Debemur Morti Productions (catalog number DMP0195), arrives on vinyl as a substantial listening commitment. Spread across three sides — A, B, and C — the record collects eight tracks that together account for a considerable stretch of time, with individual pieces frequently running past the nine-minute mark.

The tracklist is conducted almost entirely in French, a consistent stylistic choice that carries through every title. The opening side leads with the title track, "Épopée - Par Le Sang Versé," at nine minutes and ten seconds, followed by "La Sorcière Du Bois Lunerive," which extends slightly further to just over ten minutes. These are the two longest pieces on the record. Side A closes with the first part of "L'Étrange Clairière," a comparatively brief two-minute interlude before the sequence continues.

Side B opens with "L'Étrange Clairière : Partie II," reuniting the divided composition across the two sides. That track runs nine minutes and forty-one seconds, closely matched by "La Dernière Chevauchée" at nine minutes and thirty-nine seconds. Side B concludes with "Le Sous-Bois, À Trois Lieues Du Château," another shorter piece at two minutes and thirty-nine seconds, mirroring the structural approach of the first side's closer.

Side C brings the record to its conclusion with two tracks. "Passage Dans Les Douves" runs six minutes and thirty-eight seconds, and the final track, "La Fronde Des Anges," closes at eight minutes and thirty-three seconds.

Debemur Morti Productions, the French label behind the release, has a documented history with black metal releases, and the genres listed for this record include black metal and rock. The vinyl format designation appears twice in the available data, which may indicate a multi-disc configuration consistent with the three-sided sequencing reflected in the tracklist. Prospective buyers should confirm pressing-specific details independently before purchase.
