When Vinyl Spins Again

Listening notes

Released in 2017 on the Dies Irae label, *When Vinyl Spins Again* is a CD by Vinyl (11), catalogued as DIES 035 LAC. The release is classified under Heavy Metal, Rock, and Speed Metal.

The main program comprises five tracks. It opens with "Metallic Proclamation," a brief piece running twenty-two seconds, followed by "Faster Metal Attack" at three minutes and thirty-four seconds. "Stealing Lives" runs three minutes and forty-eight seconds, "Slave Of Your Mind" extends to four minutes and fifteen seconds, and "The Curse Of This Age" closes the primary sequence at three minutes and twenty seconds.

The disc continues with three bonus tracks. The first, "From The Graves Of The Metal Inquisition / Faster Metal Attack (2014)," is a combined piece running four minutes and thirty-eight seconds — notably the longest individual track on the release and one that appears to revisit "Faster Metal Attack" in a version dated to 2014. "Phalanxes (Overlord)" follows at two minutes and forty-one seconds, and "Protectors Of The Grave" closes the disc at three minutes and fifty seconds.

Across all eight tracks, the total running time amounts to approximately twenty-six minutes and twenty-eight seconds. The inclusion of a 2014-dated version of "Faster Metal Attack" alongside what appears to be a separate main-program recording of the same title may be of documentary interest to researchers or collectors tracking the development of the material, though the precise relationship between the two versions is not detailed in the available information.
