2 Brothers On The 4th Floor Feat. Des'Ray & D-Rock
The Best Remixes (30th Anniversary Vinyl Edition)

Listening notes

Music On Vinyl's 2023 release of The Best Remixes (30th Anniversary Vinyl Edition) by 2 Brothers On The 4th Floor Feat. Des'Ray & D-Rock arrives under catalog number MOVLP2920, spread across four sides of vinyl. The double album gathers sixteen tracks drawn from the group's catalog, presented here in remix form, with the anniversary framing placing the act's origins in the early 1990s.

The tracklist assembles a range of remixers whose names will be familiar to followers of the European dance scene. Ferry Corsten appears three times, handling "I'm Thinking Of U," "Do You Know (Where You're Going To)," and "The Sun Will Be Shining." The duo Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo contribute a remix of "Fairytales," while Cappella takes on "Fly (Through The Starry Night)." Twenty 4 Seven appear credited on a remix of "Dreams (Will Come Alive)." Other remix credits include DJ Marcello & Rutger 'Rutti' Kroese, Louis Ballar & Dimitri Kops, John van Dongen and Ron van den Beuken, and Beats R' Us, among others.

The fourth side closes with two megamix entries — a Euro Megamix and a Happy Hardcore Megamix — alongside a 2016 freestyle remix of "Never Alone." The inclusion of tracks tagged to 2016 within an anniversary compilation spanning what the title implies is a thirty-year period suggests the set draws on material revised or revisited beyond the group's peak years of activity.

Music On Vinyl lists the release under the genres Electronic, Eurodance, Happy Hardcore, and Techno, reflecting the stylistic range across the sixteen selections. Collectors and fans of the Dutch Eurodance era will find the compilation a consolidated document of the remix work surrounding the group's discography.
