Amon Tobin
Fear In A Handful Of Dust

Listening notes

Fear In A Handful Of Dust is a 2020 vinyl release from Amon Tobin, issued on Nomark Records under the catalog number NO. 1. The album spans ten tracks across two sides, with five compositions on each.

The record is catalogued across several genre designations: Abstract, Ambient, Electronic, Experimental, IDM, and Leftfield. That breadth of classification alone suggests a work that resists easy categorization, though what any of those descriptors means in practice for this specific release is something a listener would need to discover firsthand.

Side A opens with "On A Hilltop Sat The Moon" and continues through "Vipers Follow You," "Freeformed," "Pale Forms Run By," and "Heart Of The Sun." Side B carries the sequence forward with "Velvet Owl," "Fooling Alright," "Milk Millionaire," "Three Different Hat Sizes," and "Dark As Dogs." Track durations are not confirmed in the available documentation.

The label name, Nomark Records, and the catalog designation NO. 1 are worth noting for anyone building a discography or researching the release's provenance. Whether NO. 1 marks a debut release for the imprint or simply a catalog convention is not something the available information resolves.

Tobin has worked across electronic music for decades, and Fear In A Handful Of Dust fits within a body of work broadly associated with experimentation. Beyond that established context, this draft refrains from characterizing the album's sound, its reception, or its standing relative to other releases. Those determinations are left for the fact checker and editorial team to assess against sources not yet consulted here.
