Barrcode Meets Youthful Implants
Vinyl Pusher

Listening notes

Released in 2007 on Waveshape Records, "Vinyl Pusher" is a two-track twelve-inch from Barrcode Meets Youthful Implants, catalogued as Waveshape002. The release places it as the second entry in the Waveshape Records catalog, suggesting an early position in the label's output.

The record presents a single composition in two versions. The A-side carries the Original Mix of "Vinyl Pusher," while the B-side offers the Anti-Science Mix of the same track. This two-version structure, pairing an original with an alternate mix, is a common format in electronic and dance music releases, giving DJs and listeners distinct interpretations of the same source material within a single purchase.

Both tracks fall under the genres of Breaks and Electronic, situating the release within the breakbeat-oriented wing of electronic dance music that maintained a dedicated following during the mid-2000s. Breaks as a genre draws on rhythmically fragmented drum patterns and has roots in earlier forms of dance music, though the specific character of this release's approach to those conventions is not documented in the available information.

The artist credit, Barrcode Meets Youthful Implants, follows a collaborative naming convention frequently used in electronic music to indicate a project or one-off pairing between acts, though the nature of this particular collaboration is not detailed in the available catalog data.

Duration information for neither track is currently on record, which may be worth verifying before publication. Similarly, any additional personnel, production credits, or pressing details fall outside what can be confirmed here and should be sought from supplementary sources before any claims are made.
