BCee
Remix The System Vinyl Sampler

Listening notes

Released in 2012 on Spearhead Records, the Remix The System Vinyl Sampler by BCee carries the catalog number SPEAR045 and arrives as a two-track vinyl release sitting within the drum and bass and electronic genres.

The record presents two remixes drawn from what the title suggests is a broader remix project. The A-side offers a reworking of "Looking Glass" handled by Metrik, while the AA-side carries "Beyond Belief" reimagined by the pairing of Technicolour and Komatic. The sampler format implies this vinyl serves as a selective physical representation of a larger body of work rather than a complete standalone album, though the precise scope of the parent release is not addressed by the available information.

Spearhead Records, the label behind the release, is the imprint associated with BCee's output during this period, and the catalog number SPEAR045 places this record within a documented sequence of the label's releases. Beyond that sequencing, the surrounding catalog context falls outside what can be confirmed here.

The involvement of three distinct remixing acts across two sides — Metrik working solo and Technicolour collaborating with Komatic — gives the sampler a degree of variety within its compact running time, though no duration information is available for either track to further characterize the listening experience in concrete terms.

As a vinyl sampler, this release occupies a specific functional space in a label's release strategy, typically intended to bring music to DJs and listeners in a format suited to live performance and physical collecting. Whether this release fulfilled that purpose in any particular way is not something the verified facts here can speak to.
