Benjamin Diamond
Strange Attitude Vinyl Set Part 1 / 4

Listening notes

Benjamin Diamond's Strange Attitude Vinyl Set Part 1 / 4, released in 2000 on Diamond Traxx, carries the catalog number DIAM 004 LP DLX1 and represents the first installment of what the title indicates is a four-part vinyl series. The format places it squarely within the physical music landscape of that era, when electronic and house music were finding increasingly thoughtful homes on wax.

The record spans four tracks across two sides. Side A opens with a brief introductory piece clocking in at just twenty-five seconds before moving into "Little Scare," which runs four minutes and eleven seconds. Side B carries "18 And Over" at four minutes and thirty-one seconds, followed by "U Were Born" at four minutes and eighteen seconds, closing the record at just under fourteen minutes of total runtime when the intro is included.

The label, Diamond Traxx, shares a clear nominal connection to the artist himself, suggesting a degree of autonomy over how this material reached its audience. The catalog number's DLX1 suffix, combined with the explicit Part 1 / 4 designation in the title, indicates this release was conceived as one component of a larger structured project rather than a standalone issue. Whether the remaining parts were released under the same series framework is a question this particular record does not answer on its own.

Falling within the electronic and house genres, Strange Attitude Vinyl Set Part 1 / 4 situates Benjamin Diamond within a scene that was prolific and globally active in 2000. The record's relatively concise track count and side durations are consistent with standard twelve-inch and vinyl EP conventions of the period, though the exact physical format specifications beyond the vinyl designation are not confirmed here.
