Benjamin Diamond
Strange Attitude Vinyl Set Part 4 / 4

Listening notes

Benjamin Diamond's Strange Attitude Vinyl Set Part 4 / 4 is the concluding instalment of a four-part vinyl series released in 2000 on Diamond Traxx. Carrying the catalog number DIAM 004 LP DLX4, this record sits within the deep house, electronic, and house genres, and brings the Strange Attitude project to a close across two sides of vinyl.

The four tracks spread across the A and B sides suggest a deliberate sequencing approach. Side A opens with "Read In Your Mind," running at five minutes and forty-five seconds, followed by "U Were Born (Sunday Night Mix)" at four minutes and eighteen seconds. The parenthetical designation of a Sunday Night Mix indicates that at least one alternate version of "U Were Born" existed as part of the broader Strange Attitude release campaign, though the details of those versions fall outside the scope of this particular record.

Side B leads with "Joyride (Dub)," the longest track on the release at six minutes and thirty-six seconds. The dub designation points to a stripped or reworked version of a track presumably present elsewhere in the series. Closing the record is "Just A Little Time (No Drums Version)" at four minutes and eleven seconds, another track identified by its alternate treatment, in this case the removal of drums from what was presumably a fuller arrangement.

The track subtitles across both sides — Sunday Night Mix, Dub, No Drums Version — collectively suggest that this fourth part functioned at least in part as a home for alternate and reworked versions within the Strange Attitude sequence, though the full context of how these relate to the other three parts in the set would require examination of those companion releases.

As an unreviewed draft, all claims above are drawn directly from catalog data. Personnel, pressing details, and reception have not been addressed, as verified information on those points was not available.
