Blake Lewis
Heartbreak On Vinyl (The Remixes)

Listening notes

Blake Lewis released "Heartbreak On Vinyl (The Remixes)" in 2010 through Tommy Boy Records, catalog number TB-2637-2. The release is a nine-track CD collecting multiple remixed versions of the original song, which opens the disc at 3:58.

Three remix teams contribute work across the tracklist: Bimbo Jones, LA Riots, and Chew Fu. Each is represented in multiple configurations. Bimbo Jones appears in a radio edit (3:40), a full mix (6:34), and a dub (6:04). LA Riots contribute a radio edit (3:44), a vocal mix (5:41), and a dub (5:41). Chew Fu provides a radio fix (3:43) and an extended fix (5:40). The genre tags associated with the release span electro house, electronic, house, and progressive house, reflecting the club-oriented nature of the project.

The structure follows a familiar remix package logic, with shorter radio edits grouped toward the front of the running order and extended and dub versions placed later, where their additional length — the longest being the Bimbo Jones Mix at 6:34 — suits a more patient listen or practical DJ use. The full runtime across all nine tracks amounts to roughly 44 minutes.

Tommy Boy, the releasing label, has a long history in dance and hip-hop music dating back to the early 1980s, though no specific context about their relationship with Lewis or this release can be confirmed from the available data.
