Blueshift Big Band, The
Persona 30th Anniversary Jazz Album (Blue Butterfly Vinyl)

Listening notes

The Blueshift Big Band's Persona 30th Anniversary Jazz Album arrives on blue butterfly vinyl through iam8bit (catalog number 8BIT-8280) in 2026, marking three decades of the Persona series with a program drawn from across its principal entries.

The eight-track program spans the franchise chronologically, opening with "Snow Queen" from the original Revelations: Persona and moving through Persona 2: Innocent Sin, Persona 3 Reload, Persona 4, and Persona 5 before closing with "Aria of the Soul," credited simply to "All" — a designation that positions it as a connective thread across the series rather than a representative of any single installment. The sequencing is split evenly across two sides, with Side A carrying four tracks totaling approximately eighteen and a half minutes and Side B doing the same.

The genre classifications — big band, jazz, soundtrack, stage and screen, and video game music — situate the release at a crossroads that has become increasingly visible in collector markets as game composers and arrangers have sought wider audiences for orchestral and ensemble reimaginings. The Persona series, whose original soundtracks have themselves been commercially released across multiple formats, provides source material that already draws on jazz and funk idioms in its original form, which gives an ensemble arrangement project like this a degree of stylistic coherence that not all such tribute recordings can claim.

The blue butterfly vinyl variant is identified by name in the title itself, suggesting it is a deliberate edition designation rather than incidental packaging detail. Whether additional variants exist is not confirmed by the available information.

At just over thirty-seven minutes of programming across eight tracks, the album is a relatively concise statement. A fact checker should verify personnel, pressing details, and any additional variant information before publication.
