Carolyn Breuer & Andrea Hermenau
Jazz On Vinyl - Volume Five

Listening notes

Released in 2021 on the Jazz on Vinyl label, *Jazz On Vinyl - Volume Five* by Carolyn Breuer and Andrea Hermenau carries the catalog number Klatte 005, placing it as the fifth entry in what the label designation suggests is an ongoing series. The record is issued in the jazz genre on standard vinyl format.

The album's nine tracks are distributed across two sides. The A side opens with a two-part piece, "Fading Part One" and "Fading Part Two," running 1:42 and 2:24 respectively, followed by "Frühlingserwachen" at 4:13, "Beside You" at 4:19, and "White Marble" at 4:14. The B side carries four tracks: "Hector The Collector" at 3:49, "Unbekannte" at 3:26, "Mimo Is Back" at 4:03, and "Polarstern" at 3:10. The total runtime across all nine pieces amounts to approximately 31 minutes.

The tracklist itself offers a few points of note for collectors and enthusiasts approaching the record for the first time. The bilingual titling — with German-language tracks such as "Frühlingserwachen," "Unbekannte," and "Polarstern" sitting alongside English titles — reflects a dual linguistic sensibility without offering further context on its own. The opening "Fading" pieces, structured as a two-part sequence, occupy the record's first few minutes before the remaining tracks stand individually.

As the fifth volume in the Jazz on Vinyl series, the release fits within a catalog framework that organizes output by numbered installment. Whether that series structure implies a consistent duo pairing across volumes or varies by release is not confirmed by the available data. What the record presents factually is a 2021 vinyl release, a nine-track program, and the names of two artists working under a shared billing.
