Dj Gruff RYLZ scratch vinyl

Listening notes

Released in 1999 on Royality Records, the "Dj Gruff RYLZ scratch vinyl" (catalog number RLZY001X) is a vinyl release credited to Casino Royale (2), Royalize, and DJ Gruff. It sits across the genres of Cut-up/DJ, DJ Battle Tool, Electronic, and Hip Hop, placing it firmly within the functional end of the vinyl format — material designed with the DJ in mind rather than conventional home listening.

The record spreads twelve tracks across two sides, with no durations listed for any of them. The A-side opens with an acappella version of "La Tua Lingua Sul Mio Cuore," followed by "In Profondita In Deep _ Acappella," a text-to-speech track titled "Alien Army," the acappella "I Cammelli," and a DJ tool entry simply called "Dj Tool Fx." The Italian-language track titles suggest a domestic Italian context for the release, consistent with Casino Royale's origins as an Italian act.

The B-side continues with acappellas — "Hurt So Good," "Rylz Special Team," "Doje Pound," and a second appearance of "In Profondita In Deep" — alongside three further DJ tool tracks labeled "Dj Tool Fx 2," "Dj Tool Fx 3," and a closing acappella return to "La Tua Lingua Sul Mio Cuore." The repeated appearance of certain titles across both sides, a common convention for scratch and battle tools, gives DJs multiple placement options when cueing material.

The catalog number RLZY001X and the label name Royality Records suggest a release conceived close to or within the Casino Royale and Royalize camp rather than through a major or widely distributed imprint. Beyond what is documented here, details of personnel roles, pressing specifications, and distribution remain unverified.
