Christine And The Queens
Chris

Listening notes

Released in 2018 on Because Music (catalog number BEC5543602), the box set edition of Chris by Christine And The Queens is a substantial physical package that presents the album in two distinct linguistic versions across four vinyl records and two compact discs.

The French version occupies the first two vinyl records, spread across sides A through D, and collects twelve tracks including "Comme Si On S'Aimait," "La Marcheuse," "Goya ! Soda !," and "L'Etranger (Voleur D'Eau)." The English version, spread across sides E through H, mirrors much of the French sequence while adapting or retitling tracks accordingly: "Comme Si On S'Aimait" becomes "Comme Si," "La Marcheuse" becomes "The Walker," and "Goya ! Soda !" becomes "Goya Soda." The English sequence also includes tracks not present on the French vinyl sides, among them "Feel So Good" and "Make Some Sense," while the French version includes "Bruce Est Dans Le Brouillard," "Le G," and "Les Yeux Mouillés," which do not appear on the English vinyl sides.

The two included CDs replicate their respective vinyl versions. Minor running time differences exist between the vinyl and CD presentations of the same tracks — for instance, "Comme Si On S'Aimait" runs 3:52 on vinyl and 3:54 on the corresponding CD — though the source data does not explain these discrepancies.

The box set is catalogued under the Indie Pop and Pop genres. For collectors, this edition represents the most comprehensive single-package presentation of Chris in physical format, containing both language versions of the album in full across vinyl and CD media.
