Collage Vinyl Box

Listening notes

Released in 2014 on hyper.records under catalog number hyper 8011.6, the Collage Vinyl Box is a substantial multi-disc vinyl package from the artist known in discographic databases as Collage (8). The set spans six double-sided records — sides A through H — and collects material organized across what appear to be four distinct program sections, each identified by its own header title within the tracklist: "Collage," "Kadriko," "Käokiri," and "Collage 12\"."

The sheer scope of the tracklist is notable on its own terms. Across the A and B sides, the program runs fourteen tracks, including titles such as "Bossanova Hing," "Tallinna Blues," and "Spordihalli Blues." The C and D sides, grouped under the "Kadriko" header, present fifteen tracks with titles drawn heavily from Estonian-language folk tradition — "Kadrilaul," "Mardilaul," "Venna Sõjalugu," and others. The "Käokiri" section occupies sides E and F with twelve tracks, concluding with "Blues-Polka." The final section, labeled "Collage 12\"," fills sides G and H with four tracks across what the format suggests is a 12-inch record included within the box.

The genres listed for the release — Easy Listening, Folk, Folk, World, & Country, Jazz, Jazz-Funk, and Modal — point to a deliberately wide stylistic range, and the tracklist itself supports that breadth, mixing titles that suggest blues forms and bossa nova inflections alongside what appear to be Estonian folk song conventions.

No track durations are listed in the available data. This draft should be reviewed against primary source materials before publication.
