Cooler Kids
All Around The World (Punk Debutante) (Vinyl #1 & Vinyl #2)

Listening notes

Released in 2002 on DreamWorks Records, this CDr promo from Cooler Kids collects nine versions of "All Around The World (Punk Debutante)" across what the title designates as Vinyl #1 and Vinyl #2 — a naming convention suggesting the release was conceived as a package intended to map onto a vinyl DJ promo format, even though the physical medium here is CDr.

The track sequencing gives some indication of how the material was organized for use. The set opens with the Hex Hector Club Remix at 7:49, the longest version on the release, followed by the Hex Hector Radio Remix at 3:43, which at under four minutes is the shortest. Hex Hector contributes a third version as well, a Dub Remix running 5:51, making him the most represented remixer across the nine tracks. The remaining versions are credited to Steve Hodge, dj MONK (appearing twice, under slightly different billing — "dj MONK's Pop Shockin Elektro (Vocal Mix)" and "DJ Monk's Pop Rockin' Beats"), Static Revenger, and DJ Collette. An Album Version at 4:12 is also included, rounding out the set.

The genres listed for the release are Electro, Electronic, and House, which is broadly consistent with the remix contributors named, several of whom were active in club and dance music circles during this period.

No catalog number is assigned to this release. As a CDr promo from a major label, it was almost certainly produced in limited quantities for promotional and DJ use rather than retail sale, though no specific pressing information is available to confirm this.

The total runtime across all nine tracks exceeds 52 minutes. This is an unreviewed draft intended for fact-checker review before publication.
