Daft Punk
TRON: Legacy (Vinyl Edition Motion Picture Soundtrack)

Listening notes

Released in 2020 on Walt Disney Records (catalog number D003647301), the TRON: Legacy Vinyl Edition Motion Picture Soundtrack brings Daft Punk's score for the 2010 film to a double-LP format spread across four sides. The release carries the genres Classical, Contemporary, Electronic, House, Neo-Romantic, Soundtrack, and Stage & Screen, reflecting the range of compositional approaches represented across its tracks.

The set collects 27 titled tracks in total. Sides A and B cover what appears to be the primary program, opening with "Overture" (2:28) and moving through pieces such as "Recognizer" (2:37), "The Game Has Changed" (3:25), and the longer "Adagio For TRON" and "Disc Wars," each running 4:11. Side C concludes that sequence with "C.L.U." (4:39), the longest track in the main program, followed by "Flynn Lives," "TRON Legacy (End Titles)," and "Finale" (4:24).

Side D is designated as bonus content and includes seven additional tracks not presented as part of the main score sequence. These are "Sea Of Simulation" (2:40), "Encom Part 2" (2:15), "Encom Part 1" (3:51), "Round One" (1:38), "Castor" (2:18), "Reflections" (2:36), and "Sunrise Prelude" (2:55). Notably, the Encom pieces appear in reverse numerical order as sequenced on the record.

Across its four sides the release presents a substantial amount of material, with many individual cues running under three minutes, consistent with the episodic structure typical of film scoring work. Collectors and researchers interested in the documented vinyl edition of this soundtrack should note the catalog number D003647301 when verifying pressings.
