Daft Punk
TRON: Legacy (Vinyl Edition Motion Picture Soundtrack)

Listening notes

Released by Walt Disney Records in 2022 under catalog number 0050087502577, this vinyl edition of Daft Punk's TRON: Legacy motion picture soundtrack spreads across four sides of records, presenting the score in a format that accommodates its considerable scope.

The tracklist is organized across sides A through D. Sides A and B carry the main body of the score, opening with "Overture" and moving through twenty-two numbered cues before concluding with "Finale" on side C. The sequencing follows the film's dramatic arc through titles such as "Recognizer," "Rinzler," "Adagio For TRON," "Derezzed," and "Disc Wars," among others. "C.L.U.," at 4:39, and "Finale," at 4:24, represent the longest individual pieces across the first three sides.

Side D is designated as bonus content, comprising seven additional pieces not present on the standard tracklist: "Sea Of Simulation," "Encom Part 2," "Encom Part 1," "Round One," "Castor," "Reflections," and "Sunrise Prelude." Notably, the two Encom pieces appear in reverse numerical order as sequenced here, with Part 2 preceding Part 1. This fourth side brings the total running content to twenty-nine tracks across the full release.

The genres assigned to the release — Classical, Contemporary, Electronic, House, Neo-Romantic, Soundtrack, and Stage & Screen — reflect the score's documented breadth rather than a single stylistic identity.
