Daft Punk
TRON: Legacy (Vinyl Edition Motion Picture Soundtrack)

Listening notes

Released by Walt Disney Records in 2022 under catalog number 0050087502577, this vinyl edition of Daft Punk's TRON: Legacy motion picture soundtrack spreads across four sides of what the tracklist structure indicates is a double LP format. The release carries genre classifications spanning Classical, Contemporary, Electronic, House, Neo-Romantic, Soundtrack, and Stage & Screen, a breadth that reflects the score's documented ambition to move between orchestral and electronic modes within a single work.

Sides A and B account for the main body of the score, opening with "Overture" at 2:28 and proceeding through twenty-two tracks before the D-side bonus content begins. Among the lengthier pieces in the primary sequence are "Adagio For TRON" and "Disc Wars," both running 4:11, alongside "C.L.U." at 4:39 and "Finale" at 4:24. Much of the score, however, operates in shorter, scene-specific passages, with several tracks falling under two minutes.

Side D carries seven additional tracks listed under the heading Bonus Content, including "Sea Of Simulation," "Encom Part 1," "Encom Part 2," "Round One," "Castor," "Reflections," and "Sunrise Prelude." The inclusion of this material, not present in the original standard release configuration, brings the total track count to twenty-nine, with the bonus side alone accounting for roughly eighteen minutes of additional runtime based on the listed durations.

The full program across all four sides totals approximately eighty minutes by the provided timings. Collectors and researchers should verify all manufacturing and pressing details independently, as this draft does not address those specifics.
