Dance United
Help Asia! (Vinyl 2 Of 2)

Listening notes

Dance United released "Help Asia! (Vinyl 2 Of 2)" in 2005 through Kontor Records, catalogued as Kontor433. Issued as a single vinyl release within a two-part set, this 12-inch sits within the electronic and trance genres that defined a significant strand of European club music during that period.

The record carries four tracks across its two sides. Side A opens with the Vinylshakerz Club Mix, running at eight minutes and nineteen seconds, followed by the Blue Nature vs. Stacccato Edit, a comparatively compact five minutes and thirty-seven seconds. Side B leads with the DJ Klubbingman vs. Andy Jay Powell Club Cut at seven minutes and nineteen seconds, and closes with the Eric SSL and Falk vs. Diggerman and Escalation Remix, the longest entry on the release at nine minutes and seven seconds.

The tracklist reflects a remix-centred approach common to club-oriented releases of the era, where a single source track would be handed to multiple production teams, each producing a distinct interpretation suited to different moments or styles within a DJ set. The cumulative runtime across all four versions gives DJs and collectors considerable variation from a single purchase, with the total running time exceeding thirty minutes.

As the second of two vinyl releases under this title, Kontor433 would have been intended to complement its counterpart, together forming a more complete picture of the remix campaign surrounding the Help Asia project. The Kontor Records imprint, a Hamburg-based label, was an active presence in European trance and electronic music at the time of this release.
