Die Warzau
Vinyl88

Listening notes

Die Warzau's Vinyl88 was released in 2008 on Rosehip Records, catalog number 890575003120, in CD format. The release spans sixteen tracks and draws from genre territory that the band's catalog straddles across electronic, industrial, rock, and funk and soul.

The compilation nature of the release is evident in its tracklist, where the majority of entries are explicitly identified as remixes, edits, or alternate versions of existing material. Among the more notable designations is track four, "All Good Girls," subtitled "Girls Redrawn KMFDM Remix," which credits the German industrial act KMFDM as the remixing party. Other versions present on the disc include the "Single Cell Remix" of "Welcome To America," the "Mission To Mars Mix" of "Crusaders," and the "Butterfly Re Edit" of "Insect," which opens the collection.

Two tracks carry the descriptor "Album Edit" — "Glare" at position five and "Permission" at position fifteen — suggesting at least a partial connection to a broader album context, though the specific source albums are not identified in the available data. The closing track, "Hitler's Brain," and track fourteen, "Smacktime," appear without any remix or edit qualifier, distinguishing them from the majority of the tracklist.

Running times across the sixteen tracks range from three minutes and thirty-one seconds for "Last Generation (Rapture Re Edit)" to six minutes and one second for the KMFDM remix, giving the disc a total runtime in the neighborhood of seventy-three minutes based on the listed durations.

The title Vinyl88 appears to reference a connection to vinyl culture or a specific year, though the release itself exists only in the documented CD format under the information available here.
