Discotronic
Tricky Disco (Vinyl 2)

Listening notes

Discotronic's "Tricky Disco (Vinyl 2)" arrived in 2006 on Mental Madness Records, catalogued as MMR-099. The release is a single-sided A-side, single-format vinyl pressing presenting three remixes of the track "Tricky Disco," spread across its two sides.

The A-side carries one remix: the Mondo Rmx, running five minutes and thirty-one seconds. The B-side collects two further interpretations — the Rocco vs. Bass-T Rmx at five minutes and forty seconds, and the Paragod Rmx at four minutes and fifty-five seconds. The total runtime across the three tracks sits at just over sixteen minutes.

Mental Madness Records, the label behind this release, was a German imprint associated with the harder end of the electronic dance spectrum, and the genres attributed to this record — Electronic, Hands Up, Hard House, and Hard Trance — reflect the stylistic territory the label occupied during this period. The designation "Vinyl 2" in the title suggests this release was part of a multi-part vinyl series built around the same source track, though details of any companion volumes are not addressed here.

The catalog number MMR-099 places this release within Mental Madness's documented output, and the 2006 date situates it within a period when Hard Trance and related genres maintained a dedicated following in European club culture, particularly in Germany.

For collectors and researchers working with Mental Madness catalog documentation, this record represents a straightforward remix vinyl. The three remixes, the label, the catalog number, and the year are the verifiable anchors for this entry. Any further claims regarding personnel, pressing details, or collector value would require independent verification before publication.
