DJ Kolke
Vinyl Culture Vol. 2

Listening notes

DJ Kolke's Vinyl Culture Vol. 2 is a two-track vinyl release issued in 2023 on the Vinyl Culture label under catalog number VC002. The record sits within the electronic genres of Hard House and Hard Trance, placing it within a corner of dance music that has maintained a dedicated following through the format's broader revival.

The release carries two original mixes, one per side. The A-side presents "New Dream (Original Mix)" at seven minutes, while the B-side offers "American Dream (Original Mix)" at seven minutes and thirty-six seconds. The titles share a thematic thread around the word "dream," though whether this reflects a deliberate conceptual pairing is not confirmed by available information.

As the second entry in the Vinyl Culture series — the catalog number and title both suggest this — the release follows an earlier volume, though details of that preceding record are outside the scope of what can be confirmed here.

Hard House and Hard Trance occupy a specific and historically distinct space within electronic music, and the decision to release within this genre on vinyl in 2023 positions the record within an ongoing conversation about physical media and club-oriented music. Beyond that, the available facts do not support broader claims about the release's place in any scene or its reception among listeners and collectors.

What the record presents, on the basis of confirmed information, is a focused and economical release: two tracks, two sides, a runtime suited to the format, and a genre identity that is clearly stated. For collectors and listeners interested in Hard House and Hard Trance on vinyl, Vinyl Culture Vol. 2 is a documented 2023 release worth noting in that context.
