DJ Lone Wolf
Bruce Lee Breaks Scratch Vinyl 12" Record

Listening notes

Released in 2006 on the SBE label under catalog number 01, the Bruce Lee Breaks Scratch Vinyl 12" Record by DJ Lone Wolf is a purpose-built tool for DJs, organized across two sides with distinctly different functions.

The A side draws its material from five Bruce Lee films. "Big Boss Sample" runs 2:41, followed by "Fist of Fury Samples" at 4:31 and "Way of the Dragon" at 5:11. "Game of Death Samples" clocks in at 4:23, while "Enter the Dragon Samples" is the longest track on the record at 9:53. The film titles themselves indicate the thematic source material, though the precise nature of what was sampled — dialogue, sound effects, or otherwise — is not specified in available documentation.

The B side operates on a different logic entirely. Ten tracks run at exactly one minute each, divided between scratch loops and scratch sentences. The loops — "Step Aside," "OK Get Ready," "Dragon," "How You Like," and "Your Skillz" — offer repeating material intended for practice or performance use. The scratch sentences that follow, including "Practice Scratch Sentence," "Your Ready Scratch Sentence," "Dragon Seeks Scratch Sentence," "Your Skillz 2 Scratch Sentence," and a track titled "Knun Chuck Battle Sounds," extend the toolkit with phrased content. The uniform one-minute durations across the entire B side reflect the functional design priorities of the DJ battle tool format.

The record is catalogued under the genres DJ Battle Tool, Electronic, Funk / Soul, and Hip Hop. The format is listed as vinyl. As catalog number 01 on SBE, it appears to represent an early release for that imprint, though no additional label history is confirmed here.
