DJ Sobrino
Secteur Vinyl - Volumen 4

Listening notes

DJ Sobrino's release on Secteur Records, catalogued as SECTEUR004, presents four original compositions across two sides of vinyl under the title Secteur Vinyl - Volumen 4. The record sits within the electronic, house, and Latin genres, a combination that shapes the thematic framing of the tracklist in ways the track titles themselves make apparent.

Side A opens with "Recorcholis (Original Mix)" before moving into "Munrra (Original Mix)." The B-side carries "Prehispanik Drums (Original Mix)" and closes with "I'm Rumba (Original Mix)." All four tracks are presented as original mixes, indicating these are not edits or reworked versions of previously issued material, at least as far as this release represents them.

The title sequence is worth noting on its own terms. "Prehispanik Drums" signals an explicit engagement with pre-Columbian or broadly Mesoamerican cultural reference points, while "I'm Rumba" draws on a distinct tradition within Afro-Cuban and broader Latin music. "Recorcholis" is a Spanish exclamatory expression, colloquial and emphatic in register. Taken together, the four titles suggest a consistent orientation toward Latin identity and heritage filtered through an electronic and house framework, though what that means sonically is a matter for the listener to assess.

The release carries the Secteur Records imprint and bears the catalog number SECTEUR004, placing it as the fourth entry in what the title itself identifies as a volume series. No release year is confirmed in the available data, and no personnel beyond DJ Sobrino as artist are documented here.
