Slammin' Vinyl Presents Hardcore Heaven

Listening notes

Released in 2005 on Resist Music (RESISTCD46), Slammin' Vinyl Presents Hardcore Heaven is a three-disc CD compilation credited to DJ Sy, Brisk, and Kevin Energy. The release sits within the electronic, happy hardcore, and hardcore genres, and its format and catalogue number place it squarely within the mid-2000s UK hardcore compilation market associated with the Slammin' Vinyl brand.

The set is substantial by any measure. Across its three discs it carries 58 tracks, with individual disc totals of 18, 17, and 23 tracks respectively. Running times vary considerably across the tracklist, from brief cuts of under two minutes to selections pushing past five minutes. Disc three in particular leans toward shorter track lengths, with a number of entries falling in the two-to-three-minute range alongside longer pieces such as "Chemical Love (Sharkey & Kevin Energy Remix)" at 4:32 and "Hypnotizing Terravising (Tazz And Shanty Remix)" at 4:45.

The tracklist reflects a remix-heavy approach that was common to compilation formats of this type. Credited remixers named within the track titles include Sy and Unknown, Dougal and Gammer, V.A.G.A.B.O.N.D., K Complex, Sharkey and Kevin Energy, AMS, Tazz, and CLSM, among others. Several tracks on disc one carry 2005 revision credits, including "Hold You Right 2005" and the "Ham's 2005 Update" of "Here I Am" on disc two, suggesting the compilation drew on both contemporaneous productions and reworked older material.

Disc two opens with a brief 48-second intro before moving into its main sequence, a structural choice consistent with DJ mix or curated set presentation. Whether the discs represent continuous mixes or individual track selections is not confirmed by the available data.
