DJ The Boy
Vinyl Warfare

Listening notes

Released in 2000 under the self-released designation "Not On Label," Vinyl Warfare by DJ The Boy carries the catalog number BBR 777002 and was issued on vinyl. The release is catalogued under four genres: DJ Battle Tool, Electronic, Hip Hop, and Turntablism, placing it within a specific functional tradition of records produced primarily as instruments for DJ performance and competition rather than conventional listening.

The record contains nine tracks across two sides. The A side holds five tracks and the B side holds four, with all tracks listed as untitled and no durations documented. The absence of track titles is consistent with the conventions of the DJ battle tool format, where individual segments are typically designed as isolated sonic elements — drums, scratches, tones, or vocal phrases — meant to be manipulated rather than experienced as composed pieces.

The "Not On Label" designation indicates the release was not affiliated with a registered commercial imprint at the time of issue. This was a common approach within the turntablist and battle DJ communities of that era, where records were frequently produced outside traditional music industry structures to serve a working DJ audience directly.

No additional personnel, recording information, or pressing details are documented in the available data. Track durations are not listed, and no supplementary release notes have been verified.
