Drums & Tuba
Vinyl Killer

Listening notes

Drums & Tuba released *Vinyl Killer* in 2001 on the DiscMedi Blau label, catalogued as DMRB 015-02. The release appeared in CD format and is filed under a cross-section of genres that includes Electronic, Leftfield, and Rock — a combination that places the group in a corner of the early 2000s underground where genre boundaries were openly resisted rather than carefully managed.

The album carries thirteen tracks, and the titles alone suggest a sensibility comfortable with the absurd and the oblique. "The Donkey And The Walrus," "No Accomodation For Buffalo," "Carlos The Cat," and "The 10 Attacks Of Dagger" share space with more plainly named pieces such as "Territory" and "Eli," creating a sequence that moves between the deadpan and the direct without settling into either register for long. Whether the animal imagery and odd proper nouns running through the tracklist reflect a deliberate conceptual thread is not something the available data confirms, but their recurrence is at minimum worth noting.

Other titles — "The Diagram," "Toplino," "Royronus," "Chapeau Russia," "Prince Meets The Phantom," and "The Sauce Maker" — extend the record's idiosyncratic vocabulary further. Track durations are not documented here, so the overall runtime and the individual weight of each piece remain outside the scope of this entry.

DiscMedi Blau, the releasing label, carries the catalog prefix DMRB, and this entry bears the number 015-02. Beyond what those figures indicate about the label's catalog structure, no additional label context has been verified for inclusion.
