Drums & Tuba
Vinyl Killer

Listening notes

Drums & Tuba's *Vinyl Killer* was released in 2001 on Righteous Babe Records, catalog number RBR023-D, in CD format. The album is catalogued under the genres Electronic, Leftfield, and Rock — a grouping that at least hints at the difficulty of placing the band within any single stylistic category.

The record comprises thirteen tracks with a total runtime that runs well past the hour mark. The sequence opens with "The Diagram" at just over six minutes and closes with "Carlos The Cat," a comparatively brief track at under two minutes. The longest piece on the album is "No Accommodation For Buffalo," which occupies the penultimate position and runs to eight minutes and thirty-one seconds — a notable commitment of space near the end of the sequence. Several other tracks also extend past the five-minute mark, including "The Horse And The Tree" at 6:03 and "The 10 Attacks Of Dagger" at 6:13, while shorter entries such as "Territory" at 1:59 and "Prince Meets The Phantom" at 2:50 offer contrast in pacing across the tracklist.

Track titles across the album — "The Donkey And The Walrus," "Chapeau Russia," "Toplino," "Royronus" — resist obvious thematic grouping, which may or may not be a deliberate characteristic of the project.

Righteous Babe Records, the label founded by Ani DiFranco, was the releasing body for this record. The catalog number RBR023-D places *Vinyl Killer* within the label's documented output from that period.

This entry covers the CD release only. Prospective collectors should verify independently whether other formats exist and confirm all details against physical copies before drawing further conclusions.
