E-Rotic
The Vinyl Collection

Listening notes

E-Rotic's The Vinyl Collection, released in 2024 on Bros Music under catalog number 4056813758283, is a four-LP set gathering a substantial portion of the German Eurodance act's recorded output across genres listed as Electronic, Euro House, and Eurodance.

The set spans 55 tracks distributed across eight sides of vinyl. The first two records draw heavily from material associated with the recurring cast of characters that defined the act's catalog — Max, Fred, and Dr. Dick among them — with titles including "Max Don't Have Sex With Your Ex," "Fred Come To Bed," "Help Me Dr. Dick," and "Willy Use A Billy... Boy." Side 1-B closes with a 6:12 remix of "Max Don't Have Sex With Your Ex," the longest track on either of the first two records. The second disc concludes with a run of tracks on Side 2-B, ending with "Angel's Night" at 3:54.

The third and fourth records introduce a noticeably different pacing. Many of the tracks on Sides 3-A and 3-B fall below three minutes, with several clustered around the two-minute mark — "Maxxx" at 2:13 and "You Hooked Me Up" at 2:09 among the shortest in the collection. Extended versions of "You Hooked Me Up" (5:10) and "Out Of My Life" (5:09) appear on Side 3-A. Side 3-B includes a track titled "Murder Me '21," a title suggesting a 2021 rework. The fourth record contains a second version of the same title, at the same listed duration of 3:00.

Across the four records, several titles appear more than once in different versions. "Max Don't Have Sex With Your Ex" is present on both the first and fourth records in slightly different durations — 3:29 and 3:31 respectively — alongside the previously noted remix. "Sex On The Phone" appears on Side 1-B at 3:54 and again on Side 4-A at 3:57, with a remix appearing at the close of Side 4-B.
