Fantômas
Delìrium Còrdia

Listening notes

Fantômas released Delìrium Còrdia in 2004 through Ipecac Recordings, the label co-founded by the band's frontman Mike Patton. Issued under catalog number IPC45, the record presents a single, continuous composition sharing its name with the album itself. The release appears in multiple formats, including vinyl, and is catalogued across genres spanning ambient, electronic, noise, and rock.

The decision to present the work as one unbroken piece distinguishes it structurally from conventional album formats, and the vinyl edition invites consideration of how that format accommodates or shapes the listening experience of a single extended composition. Whether pressed across multiple sides or configured otherwise, the physical format of a continuous work raises practical questions that the collector or listener approaching this edition may want to investigate before purchase.

Ipecac Recordings has operated as an independent outlet for unconventional work since its founding, and Delìrium Còrdia sits within that broader context. The genre tags assigned to this release — ambient, electronic, noise, and rock — suggest a work that resists easy categorization, though the specifics of how those elements are combined are not addressed here.

For collectors and listeners approaching this entry, the catalog number IPC45 and the 2004 release year provide the clearest points of reference for identifying pressings and verifying edition details. The format designation of vinyl, along with the broader all-media classification, indicates the release was made available in more than one physical or digital configuration.
