The Best Of Fourplay (White Vinyl)

Listening notes

Released in 2021, this white vinyl pressing from evosound (catalog number EVLP028WT) collects ten tracks under the title The Best Of Fourplay, drawing from the catalog of the jazz-fusion act identified in Discogs records as Fourplay (3). The release sits within the Fusion and Jazz genres and spans two sides, each carrying five tracks.

Side A opens with "Max-O-Man" at five minutes and thirty-three seconds, followed by "101 Eastbound" at five minutes and fifty-eight seconds. "Higher Ground" runs four minutes and fifty-five seconds, while "4 Play And Pleasure" extends to five minutes and fifty-one seconds. The side closes with "After The Dance" at four minutes and thirteen seconds, bringing the first half to a total running time of just over twenty-six minutes.

Side B leads with "Chant," the longest track on the record at six minutes and twenty-seven seconds, and continues with "Bali Run" at five minutes and thirty-four seconds. "Between The Sheets" appears here in an edited form clocking in at three minutes and fifty-seven seconds, followed by "Any Time Of Day" at six minutes and sixteen seconds. The final track, "Why Can't It Wait Till Morning," is presented as a remix and runs four minutes and two seconds, closing the record at just under twenty-six minutes for the second side.

Two tracks are noted as non-standard versions: the edit of "Between The Sheets" and the remix of "Why Can't It Wait Till Morning," distinguishing them from whatever forms these recordings may have taken elsewhere in the group's discography. The choice of white vinyl marks this as a visually distinct physical object, though no additional production or manufacturing details are available from the verified data at hand. Prospective buyers or cataloguers should seek supplementary documentation to confirm further specifics before treating any details beyond those listed here as established.
