Gabi Newman Y Luis Lopez Feat. Nicole Tyler
Burnin' The Vinyl

Listening notes

Released in 2007 on Vendetta Records, "Burnin' The Vinyl" is a vinyl single from Gabi Newman Y Luis Lopez featuring Nicole Tyler, carrying the catalog number VENMX 811 (N). The release sits within the electro, electronic, and house genres, positioning it among the dance-oriented twelve-inch releases that were a staple of club-focused labels during that period.

The record presents three versions across its two sides. The A-side opens with the Vocal Mix, running seven minutes and thirty seconds, followed by an Acapella version clocking in at six minutes and thirty-two seconds. The B-side is given over entirely to the Simon and Shaker Remix, which extends the track to eight minutes and forty seconds, making it the longest version on the release.

The structure of the record follows a format common to dance twelve-inches of the era: a vocal mix intended for dancefloor use, an acapella strip designed to give DJs flexibility for blending and live remixing, and a remix from outside producers to offer an alternate interpretation of the material. The Simon and Shaker Remix occupying the full B-side reflects the weight given to that version within the release.

The title itself, "Burnin' The Vinyl," carries an obvious self-referential quality for a physical record release, nodding to the culture of DJ play and repeated use that twelve-inch singles were built around.

As a vinyl release issued through Vendetta Records with a clearly assigned catalog number, the single represents a documented entry in the label's output for that year. Collectors and researchers working with dance music releases from this period may find the catalog number a useful reference point when tracing the label's catalog.
