Gift (3), The
Vinyl

Listening notes

Released in 2014 on Sony Music, Vinyl is a CD by The Gift (3), a release that spans fifteen tracks and runs a considerable total length. The album's genre tags on record — ambient, downtempo, electronic, jazz, pop, and trip hop — suggest a broad stylistic range within a single collection, placing the project at a crossroads of several idioms that were each well established by that point in the early 2010s.

The tracklist opens with "Nowadays" at three minutes and fifty-five seconds and closes with "How The End... Always End" at four minutes and thirty-eight seconds. Several tracks extend noticeably beyond the four-minute mark, with "Real (Get Me For...)" running six minutes and four seconds, "Dream With Some Else's Dream" at five minutes and twenty seconds, "Truth" at five minutes and thirty-two seconds, and the album's longest piece, "Weekend," reaching six minutes and forty-five seconds. The remaining tracks cluster comfortably in the three-to-five minute range, giving the overall program a varied pacing across its fifteen entries.

Track titles across the record include both English and non-English entries — "Ouvir," a Portuguese word meaning to listen or to hear, and "La Folie," a French phrase, appear alongside predominantly English titles. Whether this multilingual thread carries through to the recordings themselves is not documented in the available information.

No catalog number is listed for this release. The album was issued in the CD format despite its title, Vinyl, a detail that collectors and cataloguers may find worth noting when searching for or documenting this entry in a discography.
