Gift (3), The
Vinyl

Listening notes

Vinyl is a 1998 CD release by The Gift (3), issued without a catalog number on a not-on-label basis. The release spans fifteen tracks with a total running time that places it well beyond the length of a conventional album, the longest single track being the closing stretch of "Weekend" at six minutes and forty-five seconds and "Real (Get Me For...)" at just over six minutes.

The genres associated with the release — ambient, downtempo, electronic, pop, and trip hop — point to a range of electronic and textural approaches that were circulating widely in the late 1990s. Whether those genre tags reflect distinct movements across the tracklist or a general atmospheric orientation is something a listener would need to assess directly.

Track titles across the fifteen positions include "Nowadays," "My Lovely Mirror," "Time," "Real (Get Me For...)," "Love Boat," "Dream With Some Else's Dream," "Ouvir," "La Folie," "Changes," "OK! Do You Want Something Simple," "Truth," "Concret," "Weekend," "First Chapter," and "How The End... Always End." The presence of titles drawing on French and Portuguese words — "La Folie" and "Ouvir" — alongside predominantly English titles suggests at minimum a multilingual sensibility in how the project was framed, though no further conclusions can be drawn from the available information.

The absence of a catalog number and the not-on-label designation indicate this was released outside conventional distribution infrastructure, which was not unusual for self-released electronic music at the time. No personnel, pressing, or production details are available in the verified record for this release.
