Greg Wilson
Credit To The Edit Volume Two (Vinyl Two)

Listening notes

Greg Wilson's Credit To The Edit Volume Two (Vinyl Two) was released in 2010 on the Tirk label, catalogued as TIRK059. The release arrives as a single vinyl disc drawn from the broader Credit To The Edit Volume Two project, presenting three tracks that reflect Wilson's work across genres catalogued here as Acid House, Disco, Electronic, Funk, and Funk / Soul.

The A-side carries two tracks. "Don't Turn It Off (Greg Wilson Version)" opens at six minutes and twenty-six seconds, followed by "Mercy (Greg Wilson Version)" at six minutes and two seconds. The B-side is given over entirely to "Love Honey (Greg Wilson Extended Version)," which runs to eight minutes and forty-seven seconds, making it the longest piece on the record by a considerable margin. The parenthetical credits on each track identify these as Wilson's own versions, with "Love Honey" carrying the additional designation of an extended version.

The multi-volume Credit To The Edit series situates Wilson within a practice of reworking and recontextualising existing recordings, a tradition with a long history in club and DJ culture. The genre tags attached to this release span several decades of black American and British dance music, suggesting the source material Wilson draws on is not confined to a single era or style.

Tirk is the label home for this release, and the TIRK059 catalog number places it within that imprint's documented output. As a vinyl-only component of a larger release, this disc represents one part of a sequenced multi-format project rather than a standalone album.
