Groove Collector, The
Vinyl Pusher / Drugs & Sex

Listening notes

The Groove Collector's two-track release on Vinyl Inside from 2001 arrives under catalog number VI 140, pairing "Vinyl Pusher" on the A-side with "Drugs & Sex" on the B-side. The release sits within the electronic, hard house, and house genres, placing it among the more aggressive strands of early 2000s club-oriented music that characterized much of the output emerging from that corner of the dance scene at the time.

Hard house as a genre occupied a particular niche during this period, distinguished from broader house music by its heavier kick drums and faster tempos, and the Vinyl Inside label was operating within that space when this record came out. The catalog number VI 140 suggests a label with a substantial release history behind it by the point this single appeared, though the specific context of where it fell within the label's output is worth verifying independently.

The track titles themselves are direct and provocative in the manner common to hard house and related genres of the era, which frequently leaned into confrontational or transgressive naming as part of their identity. "Vinyl Pusher" and "Drugs & Sex" fit squarely within that tradition without being outliers.

Beyond what the release data confirms, details regarding personnel, recording circumstances, pressing variations, or how the record was received remain outside the scope of what can be stated here. Collectors and researchers interested in the Vinyl Inside catalog or in hard house releases from this period may find this single a useful data point, but any further claims about the record's significance or qualities would require additional sourcing. The above should be treated as an unreviewed draft pending fact-checker confirmation.
