Sandpaper And Vinyl

Listening notes

GX Jupitter-Larsen & IDX1274 released *Sandpaper And Vinyl* on the Spacelessjam label in 2006, catalogued as SPACE 04. The release is a CDr format and falls within the Electronic and Noise genres.

The release consists of a single untitled track running seventeen minutes and thirty-seven seconds. Beyond its title and duration, the tracklist offers no further identifying information about the work's contents or structure.

The album title, *Sandpaper And Vinyl*, positions the release conceptually within a tradition of noise and experimental music that frequently foregrounds materials, processes, and textures as subjects in their own right. Whether the title reflects the literal use of those materials or operates as a descriptor in a broader sense is not established by the available documentation.

GX Jupitter-Larsen is the credited lead artist on the release, joined here by collaborator IDX1274. The Spacelessjam label, which assigned this release its fourth catalog position under the SPACE prefix, serves as the imprint for the work.

CDr as a format was a common vehicle for releases in noise and experimental communities during this period, offering a practical means of distribution for limited or specialized works. The genre designations of Electronic and Noise place this release within a broader field of experimental sound practice that was active and internationally distributed in 2006.
