Fallout 3 - 10th Anniversary Ultimate Edition Vinyl Soundtrack

Listening notes

Released in 2019 by Spacelab9, the Fallout 3 10th Anniversary Ultimate Edition Vinyl Soundtrack (catalog number SL9-2059-1-7) is a box set presentation of music from the 2008 Bethesda Softworks role-playing game. The release spans eight sides across multiple records, collecting both the original score composed by Inon Zur and a separate selection of licensed tracks that appeared in the game as Galaxy News Radio programming.

The Zur score occupies sides A through F, with twenty-nine compositions spread across those six sides. Track titles across this portion of the release — among them "Wandering The Wastes," "City Of Ruin," "Ashes And Sand," and "Pieces Of The Past" — reflect the post-apocalyptic setting of the game. Individual cues range in duration from under two minutes to just over four, with "Pieces Of The Past" at 4:04 representing the longest entry among Zur's contributions.

Sides G and H are designated for the Galaxy News Radio tracks, a grouping of ten pre-war popular recordings that functioned as in-game radio content. These include titles such as "I Don't Want To Set The World On Fire," "Butcher Pete (Part 1)," "Into Each Life Some Rain Must Fall," and "Easy Living." The presence of this material accounts for the genres listed for the release, which span Easy Listening, Jazz, Smooth Jazz, Swing, Score, Soundtrack, Stage and Screen, and Video Game Music.

In total, the set contains forty tracks across eight sides. The release was issued to mark the tenth anniversary of the original game's publication. This is an unreviewed draft and should be verified before publication.
