Jaydee
Plastic Dreams 2003 (Vinyl 1)

Listening notes

Jaydee's "Plastic Dreams" has a documented history as a touchstone of electronic music, and this 2004 release from Capitol Music represents one of its later official incarnations on vinyl. Released under catalog number 7243 5 53971 6 4 and filed under the Electronic and Hard House genres, the record presents three versions of the track across its two sides.

The A-side carries the 2003 Remix, running at seven minutes and fifteen seconds — a duration consistent with the extended format that vinyl remains well suited to accommodate. The B-side divides into two further versions: the Tayo and Acid Rockers Remix at seven minutes and twenty-seven seconds, and the MC Version, which at three minutes and fifty-four seconds is notably shorter than its companions, suggesting a more radio or set-friendly configuration of the material.

The release is catalogued as "Plastic Dreams 2003 (Vinyl 1)," with the designation "Vinyl 1" implying the existence of at least one additional volume in this series, though what further material that may contain falls outside what this particular record documents.

For collectors and researchers engaging with the documented catalogue of electronic and Hard House releases from this period, the record offers a concrete data point: a major-label pressing of Jaydee's material issued in 2004, presenting three distinct edits of the 2003 version of the track under a single catalog number. Capitol Music's involvement places this at the more commercially distributed end of what was often a scene characterized by independent and underground channels.
