Jaydee
Plastic Dreams 2003 (Vinyl 2)

Listening notes

This 2004 vinyl release, catalogued under Capitol Music (7243 5 48212 6 4), presents the second vinyl volume of Jaydee's "Plastic Dreams 2003" remix package, collecting four interpretations of the track across two sides.

Side A opens with the Lee Cabrera Remix at 8:25, followed by a Radio Edit running 3:29. Side B carries the ATFC "Plastic Surgery" Remix at 9:43 and closes with the Twisted Individual Remix at 6:05. The sequencing places the Radio Edit as the shortest offering at under three and a half minutes, while ATFC's contribution is the longest of the four at nearly ten minutes.

The release is categorized across a notably wide range of genres — Drum n Bass, Electronic, House, Tech House, and Tribal House — which reflects the diversity of remixers brought to the project. Lee Cabrera, ATFC, and Twisted Individual each represent distinct corners of the electronic music landscape, and that breadth is legible in the genre tags assigned to this package, even if the individual character of each remix is something a listener would need to assess firsthand.

As the second vinyl volume in what the title implies is at least a two-part release, this record functions as part of a larger set rather than a standalone single. Collectors or DJs sourcing a complete picture of the "Plastic Dreams 2003" remix campaign would need to account for additional volumes beyond this pressing.

The catalog number and label attribution to Capitol Music place this within a major label context for what is otherwise material rooted in club and underground electronic traditions. That institutional framing is worth noting for anyone researching the release's distribution history.
