Joe Claussell
The Unofficial Edits & Overdubs Special Advanced Edition Vol.2 - Vinyl 1

Listening notes

Joe Claussell's The Unofficial Edits & Overdubs Special Advanced Edition Vol. 2 - Vinyl 1 was released in 2018 on Circuit T Promo under catalog number CIRCUIT.T.PRO.12.1. The release is the first of what the title indicates is a multi-part vinyl series, presenting itself explicitly as a special advanced edition within Claussell's ongoing edits and overdubs output.

The four-track program spans genres cataloged as Deep House, Disco, Electronic, and Funk / Soul, a combination that reflects the broad stylistic territory Claussell has long worked across. Side A opens with "Keep on Moving" at six minutes and forty-six seconds, followed by the considerably longer "You Can't Just Smile it Away," which runs ten minutes and seventeen seconds. Side B carries "You Control Me" at eight minutes and fifty-seven seconds, closing with "Hueluberlu" at an even six minutes. The total running time across both sides is substantial, with three of the four tracks exceeding six minutes and one surpassing ten, suggesting programming oriented toward extended listening or DJ use, as is common within the edits and overdubs format.

The promo designation in the label name, Circuit T Promo, is noted in the release data, which may be relevant to collectors and researchers seeking to place this record accurately within Claussell's discography. The catalog number, CIRCUIT.T.PRO.12.1, follows a format consistent with that label designation.
