Lazard
4 O'Clock (In The Morning) - Vinyl 1/2

Listening notes

Lazard's "4 O'Clock (In The Morning)" arrived on vinyl in 2002 through Dance Division, catalogued as DAD 672282 6. Designated as Vinyl 1/2, this release represents the first of a two-part vinyl series for the single, a format approach that was a practical solution for labels looking to distribute multiple mixes across the format's physical constraints.

The record carries three versions of the track across its two sides. The A-side presents the DJs @ Work Mix as its sole offering, while the B-side pairs the Club Mix with the Trance Mix. The sequencing places two distinct interpretations of the song on a single side, giving the B-side a different character in terms of content density compared to the A-side's single-track presentation.

Genre-wise, the release sits within electronic and trance territory, categories that were commercially prominent in the early 2000s club and dance market. Dance Division, as the releasing label, operated within this space, and the catalog number system it employed here follows a structured alphanumeric convention.

The absence of duration information for the individual tracks means nothing definitive can be said about the running time of any particular mix. Similarly, personnel details, recording origins, and production credits are not available within the verified information for this release, and any elaboration on those points would go beyond what the facts support.

As the first of two vinyl volumes for this single, collectors and researchers interested in completing the full release should be aware that additional mixes are documented under a corresponding Vinyl 2/2 counterpart. This draft has been prepared for fact-checker review and should not be treated as a finalized entry.
