LBT - Leo Betzl Trio
Swing On Vinyl

Listening notes

Released in 2021 on the Jazz on Vinyl label, *Swing On Vinyl* by the Leo Betzl Trio — catalogued as Klatte 006 — is a vinyl jazz release presenting seven tracks across two sides of a standard LP format.

Side A opens with "The Earl," running just over seven minutes at 7:01, making it the longest track on the record. It is followed by "O Pintor" at 4:55 and "Farewell And Goodbye" at 4:08. Side B carries four tracks: "For Carsten" at 4:54, "By My Side" at 4:02, "Jules Blues" at 3:41, and a second appearance of "The Earl," this time in a considerably shorter version clocking in at 3:14. The presence of "The Earl" in two distinct durations — one exceeding seven minutes and one just over three — is a notable structural feature of the sequencing, placing the shorter version as the closing track on the B side.

The total runtime across the seven tracks amounts to approximately 31 minutes and 55 seconds, a relatively compact program for a full LP. The label name, Jazz on Vinyl, directly signals an orientation toward the physical format, and the release year of 2021 places it within a sustained period of renewed interest in vinyl as a delivery medium for jazz recordings.

The Leo Betzl Trio is identified here under the abbreviated performance name LBT. Beyond the tracklist and release details provided, no additional personnel, recording location, or production credits are confirmed in the available data and are therefore not addressed in this draft.
