Madonna
Fever (Vinyl Pro)

Listening notes

Madonna's "Fever (Vinyl Pro)" is a CDr promotional release issued through Warner Bros. Records in 2007, carrying the catalog number Pro-A-6074. Catalogued under the Electronic and Tribal House genres, the release compiles twelve versions of "Fever" across a total runtime that reflects the extended, dance-floor-oriented formatting typical of promotional materials aimed at DJs and radio programmers.

The tracklist is notably varied in its approach to the source material. The Murk Boys contribute two versions: the Miami Mix, running seven minutes and ten seconds, and the Deep South Mix at six minutes and twenty-eight seconds. Oscar G's Dope Dub appears at four minutes and fifty-five seconds, while Back To The Dub 2 clocks in at four minutes and fifty-two seconds. The 12" Instrumental runs four minutes and fifty-eight seconds, and the Extended 12" reaches six minutes and eight seconds. Two entries credited to "T's Extended Dub" — labeled A and B — run two minutes and fifty-six seconds and five minutes and three seconds respectively. The Hot Sweat 12" is the longest individual track on the release at eight minutes and two seconds. Rounding out the set are the Shep Remedy Dub at four minutes and twenty-nine seconds, Peggy's Nightclub Mix at four minutes and fifty-nine seconds, and the Bugged Out Bonzai Dub at four minutes and forty-eight seconds.

As a promotional CDr rather than a standard commercial release, Pro-A-6074 was distributed through Warner Bros. Records in the capacity typical of such formats. Researchers and collectors interested in the range of remix approaches applied to this title will find the twelve-version compilation a substantive reference point for documenting the single's promotional life. The participation of named remixers including the Murk Boys, Oscar G, and Shep is verifiable through the tracklist as documented.
