Mariya Takeuchi = Mariya Takeuchi
Request (2021 Vinyl Edition)

Listening notes

Mariya Takeuchi's Request, originally released in the late 1980s, receives a vinyl reissue here under catalog number WPJL-10154, issued on Moon Records in 2021. The album spans ten tracks distributed evenly across two sides, drawing from a range of genres that the label data identifies as including city pop, boogie, funk, synth-pop, soft rock, kayōkyoku, and electronic pop — a breadth that reflects the stylistic range the album covers rather than a single defining sound.

Side A opens with 恋の嵐 and moves through Oh No, Oh Yes!, けんかをやめて, 消息, and 元気を出して. Side B leads with 駅, followed by Teko's Theme, 色・ホワイトブレンド, 夢の続き, and closes with 時空(とき)の旅人. The tracklist includes titles in both Japanese and English, and no durations are listed in the available release data.

The 2021 pressing carries the Moon Records imprint, which is documented here as Moon Records (5) to distinguish it from other labels sharing that name. No additional pressing details, matrix information, or manufacturing credits are confirmed in the source data for this edition.

Request is an album that has continued to circulate in discussions of Japanese popular music from the 1980s, and this 2021 vinyl edition represents one of the more recent physical formats in which it has been made available. Collectors and listeners interested in this period of Japanese pop have a documented pressing to reference under the catalog number above, though further details about this specific edition — including any liner notes, lacquer sources, or regional availability — would require verification beyond what the current release data confirms.
