Mathias Schaffhäuser Vs. Various
RE: Vinyl Selection

Listening notes

Released in 2003 on Multicolor Recordings, RE: Vinyl Selection (catalog number MCR 122.0) is a two-track vinyl release credited to Mathias Schaffhäuser Vs. Various. The format positions Schaffhäuser as a remixer working across material from multiple source artists, a framing made explicit by the "Vs. Various" designation in the release credit.

The record contains two tracks, one per side. The A-side presents "I Begin To Wonder (Mathias Schaffhäuser Remix)" at eight minutes and nineteen seconds, while the B-side carries "This' A Beautiful Day (Mathias Schaffhäuser Remix)" at nine minutes and one second. Both tracks are remixes, as their titles indicate, though the original artists and source releases are not specified in the available documentation.

The release is catalogued under the genres deep house, electronic, house, and tech house, reflecting the stylistic range those labels collectively suggest within early 2000s club music. Whether those genre designations apply evenly across both tracks or describe the release as a whole is a question the available data does not resolve.

Multicolor Recordings issued this under catalog number MCR 122.0. Beyond that identifier and the 2003 release year, details concerning the label's broader catalog context for this release are not available here.

At roughly seventeen and a half minutes of total program time spread across two sides, RE: Vinyl Selection presents extended-length material consistent with dance floor formats of the period. The "RE: Vinyl Selection" title suggests this may have been conceived as part of a series or thematic grouping, though no further releases under that series name are confirmed by the facts provided.
