Mathias Schaffhäuser vs. Various
RE:2 Vinyl Selection

Listening notes

Released in 2006 on Multicolor Recordings, RE:2 Vinyl Selection (catalog number MCR 149.0) is credited to Mathias Schaffhäuser vs. Various, a billing that positions the release as a remix-focused project pairing Schaffhäuser against an unspecified group of source material contributors. The record sits within the electronic, minimal, and techno genres.

The vinyl presents three tracks across its two sides. The A-side holds a single selection, "P.O. Box (Matthias Schaffhäuser Rmx)," while the B-side carries two: "Use Your Arms (M. Schaffhäuser Rmx)" and "All Night Long (Matthias Schaffhäuser Rmx)." The tracklist credits make clear that Schaffhäuser's role throughout is that of remixer rather than originating composer, with all three titles presented as reworkings of existing material. The original artists behind these tracks are not identified in the available data for this release.

The "vs. Various" construction in the artist credit is a somewhat unconventional framing worth noting. It suggests a competitive or dialogic relationship between Schaffhäuser and the source artists, a presentation style occasionally used in electronic music to foreground the remix act itself as a distinct creative gesture rather than a supplementary one.

Multicolor Recordings issued the release under the catalog designation MCR 149.0. Beyond the details confirmed here — label, year, format, catalog number, genres, and tracklist — no further verified information is available regarding personnel, production context, or related releases in the RE: series that this title's numbering implies may exist.
