Melly (2)
Tekiteazy 07

Listening notes

Tekiteazy 07 is a four-track vinyl release by Melly (2), issued in 2019 on the Tekiteazy label under catalog number TEKITEAZY 07. The record sits within the electronic, freetekno, and tribal genres, a combination that situates it within a broader tradition of underground dance music production oriented toward free party and autonomous sound system culture.

The release is spread across two sides. The A-side opens with "Barnyard Dance" and continues with "Five," while the B-side carries "Time Looper" and closes with "7X." Track durations are not documented for this release. The four-track structure across two sides is a conventional format for this type of dance-oriented vinyl, allowing each side to function as a self-contained sequence in a DJ or sound system context.

The Tekiteazy label, which shares its name with the catalog prefix used here, appears to operate within the freetekno underground, a scene historically associated with DIY production, limited pressings, and distribution outside mainstream retail channels. The catalog numbering — TEKITEAZY 07 — indicates this is the seventh release in the label's sequence, suggesting an ongoing output by the time this record appeared.

Freetekno as a genre carries specific cultural associations with European free party movements, and the inclusion of tribal as an additional genre descriptor points toward rhythmic, percussion-influenced electronics. These genre tags are the only guide available to the character of the music on this record, and any further description of its sound would go beyond what the documented facts support.
