Mettle Music
Moodswings - The Vinyl Collection - Volume 2

Listening notes

Mettle Music's Moodswings - The Vinyl Collection - Volume 2, released in 2004 under the label's own imprint and catalogued as MM 002, is a four-track vinyl release operating within the deep house and electronic house genres. As the second installment in the Moodswings series, it follows the format suggested by its title, presenting material drawn from what appears to be a broader album context alongside purpose-configured mixes.

The record is structured across two sides, each carrying a pair of tracks. The A-side opens with "El Mar (House Dub)" followed by "Sleepy Head (House Mix)," while the B-side presents "El Mar (Album Mix)" and "Sleepy Head (Album Mix)." This arrangement means both tracks appear twice on the release, each in a distinct version. The House Dub and House Mix designations on the A-side suggest configurations oriented toward dance floor application, while the Album Mix versions on the B-side likely reflect the form in which the material appeared, or was intended to appear, in a longer-form context. The pairing of these two versions of each track on a single record offers a direct opportunity to compare the approaches taken for different listening environments, a format with some precedent in house music releasing practice.

The release carries the catalog number MM 002, confirming its position as the second in the Moodswings vinyl series issued by Mettle Music. No additional credits, matrix information, or track durations are available within the verified data accompanying this entry.

Given the absence of confirmed personnel details, pressing specifications, or contextual documentation beyond what the label and catalog number provide, further research would be necessary before drawing conclusions about the release's production background or its relationship to other Mettle Music output. This entry should be reviewed against physical copies or supplementary label documentation before publication.
